1. Smeg BCC02
This sleek compact and striking machine, created by Milan-based company Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with the latest technology. It is able to handle every step of the coffee-making process - from grinding beans and tamping them into a puck, to making milk into a texturing process and dispenses the right amount - so you can create barista-quality hot drinks by pressing a button.
bean to cup coffee maker is also available in black, red, or taupe. It is a great fit into any kitchen design. The machine is not without flaws however. Many reviewers felt that it was a bit expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and it doesn't come with the milk pitcher).
There were numerous glowing reviews about this machine's ease of use and the quality of the coffee. The digital display offers information and step-bystep instructions throughout the entire brewing procedure, helping you to perfect your drink every time. It even allows you to adjust the grind size if it's not quite right. It's like having your own personal barista at home (minus Elon Musk's rocket building abilities and Harry Potter's invisibility cape).
If you prefer drinks with milk, this model features a steam wand that's adjustable upwards and downwards to fit all drinking vessels, but not the Viking's drinking horn. We were also amazed by the speed and efficiency at the way that the frothing was performed. It makes an excellent, full-flavoured, delicious espresso with a fantastic crema.
The BCC02 is an excellent all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and it is a great value at the current price of PS499. The only issue is the fact that it doesn't offer the same level of customisation as other bean-to-cups we've evaluated. It's got a 15-bar pump rather than the more common 19 bar that aren't as efficient for producing quality espressos. This is a great machine for those who like their coffee strong and dark. The only thing that could be a negative for some people is the price. The machine isn't inexpensive, with prices that are close to PS999. It is still cheaper than comparable Jura machines with similar features.
